On a map of McDonalds stores throughout Australia, the largest populated area without any red and yellow 'M' pins, is to the east of Melbourne.  An area of approximately 144,500 residents, 2470 sq metres, and only 1 McDonalds restaurant.  How such a large area has avoided the stench of fast food for so long is admirable, but McDonalds has decided that this is not acceptable, and that it is their responsible community service to provide those 144,000 people who chose to live there, with easy access to their food.  No one should have to drive to another suburb to get McDonalds. That the Yarra Ranges has gone so long without a McDonalds is clearly a breach of human rights. Right?
